USPS Informed Delivery® Provides Convenience for Consumers and Digital Integration for Marketers
Did you know you can digitally preview what’s coming to your mail box every morning for free? All you have to do is sign up via the USPS Informed Delivery website. On mail delivery days, USPS Informed Delivery allows you to view grey-scale images of the exterior, address side of letter-sized mail and track packages from one online location. Plus, you can sign up for a daily email that conveniently delivers the images from your dashboard to your inbox.
Launched nationally in the Spring 2017, more than 12.8 million users have signed on. In addition, over 8 million have enabled email notifications with 70 percent opening notifications daily (on average). These strong open rates provide another opportunity for marketers to engage consumers with digital components and deliver stronger integrated campaigns.
For example, marketers can enhance the image of the scanned mail piece and offer recipients the opportunity to take immediate action by clicking on the image, which is linked to a website. It also provides enhanced campaign measurement, because marketers can collect information on campaign reach and results (e.g., open rates, click-through rates).

While this new service is still developing and evolving, it appears to offer great opportunities for testing. Plus, currently it is free for both consumers and marketers.
